ISUZU MOTORS up to 2006 Accessing Isuzu SRS DTCs On IMPULSE and STYLUS connect a jumper wire between terminals A and K of the ALDL (Assembly Line Data Link) connector. The ALDL or DLC is located at the lower right hand side of the dash, bellow the glove box. Then turn ignition on and count the number of flashes. On newer models a scanner is supposed to be needed to access the DTCs. However, simply perform the previous procedure of shorting out the A & K pins at the DLC. This is exactly what the scanner does internally. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ MAZDA up to 2011 DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODES Accessing Diagnostic Trouble Codes Without a scanner Air bag system on-board diagnosis is determined by the amount of flashes of the SRS warning lamp. 1. Turn ignition On. 2. Connect a suitable jumper wire between Data Link Connector (DLC) SCN terminal and ground. IMPORTANT !!! (CLICK the DIAGRAM BUTTON BELOW) to see the DLC pin-out. 3. Air bag system warning lamp will flash any stored DTCs. Using a scanner Connect a scanner to the DLC connector and access the SRS system. For the most part, a scanner will also internally jump the (SCN) terminal to ground or earth. Clearing Diagnostic Trouble Codes The DTC memory will be automatically cleared when the indicated condition has been corrected. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ SUBARU Accessing SRS DTCs (All Years) Accessing SRS DTCs on 1990-2011 (procedure will work only on some 2000-2006 models. Otherwise a scanner is needed.) 1 - Turn the ignition key on. 2 - Connect the Diagnostics terminal of the SRS to the SRS-Diagnostic connector terminal #1, located below instrument cluster lower cover. On SVX connect the Diagnostic terminal to the diagnostics connector pin # 9. 3 - Read the SRS DTCs as they flash on the SRS light. NOTE: The Diagnostic terminal in NOT part of the SRS DLC. This terminal is bound to the SRS DLC Connector wiring. Look for a single Pig-Tail type connector. Erasing DTCs without a scanner 1 - Turn ignition ON. 2 - Perform a code retrieval as in previous step, then while the SRS light is flashing, contact pin # 2 for at least 4 seconds. After the memory has been cleared, the SRS light will flash every half a second. On SVX, perform a code extraction procedure as stated before, then momentarily contact pin # 3 for at least 4 seconds. If any other code is present the memory will not clear.
